A lovely bird family in Eton Hall

Amazing is everywhere.
I never expected that I could get in touch with a wild bird family face to face. But in Eton Hall, amazing happened.
Last Sunday when I made a phone call near the badminton court, accidently I found a bird was feeding its baby in the nest in a small tree that was just 1m away from me! I was so surprised that I couldn’t say a word for a long time. That tree was not a very tall, and the height of the bird nest is almost at the same height of me. When I got closer I found that the there were two baby birds in the nest, and an adult bird was feeding them. After a while the adult bird left, and I went nearer in order to have a good look at the baby bird. But unfortunately, the bird nest was so deep that I could see nothing. So I went back and took a camera to take a picture of them.
Then what was even more amazing happened. At first I put the camera above the nest and took a picture of them.(picture 2) when I looked at the picture, I thought the birds is too small in the picture. So I put the camera nearer, just above the nest, when suddenly the two baby birds stood up and open their mouth to ask for food!(picture 1) They regarded the camera as their parent! What a surprise! What two lovely angels!
At that night I went to the bird nest to have a look at them. At that time, the adult bird came back and slept in the nest. The adult bird’s body covered the nest and buried its head in the feathers. Its baby must sleep very well under the protection of their parent. Oh, what a sweet family!
Unfortunately, the light near the bird nest was on for the whole night, so it would disturb the family. Then I told the security to turn off the light after 11:00 pm. But the security said that if the light was off, there would be too dark. So she couldn’t do that. As a consequence the family has to sleep under the light for many whole nights. So the next time you pass the tree, remember that there is a bird family sleeping there, and be quiet.
Now best wishes to the baby birds! May god bless them to grow up smoothly!

  1. Vow,what a find! You`ve captured good photos with your camera. Eton Hall and its surroundings seem to have many "treasures". Enjoy while you can,as soon it`ll be time to say goodbye to this place, your first "home" in Singapore.

  3. Do you know that I really like my living environment in Eton Hall. Every morning I stand on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful scenery around. They are so beautiful. Every time I see an animal on the trees, I cannot help say Vow. It is amazing, isn't it? As when we were in China, we don't have so many chances to be exposed to the nature. Tell you a secret. There must be a bird nest on the roof of my dorm, for I hear bird singing from day to night. If I have the chance, I want to say hello to the bird family as well.

  4. Not too many chances to be exposed to nature? That's sad, isn't it?
