Learning Journey(yap)

Last Thursday was the day before Labor Day. On the morning, we had our second progress test. Actually, I thought the test was a little more difficult than the first one. After the exam, in the afternoon, all of our SM3 students went to Singapore Science Center. I am not fully satisfied with my behaviors in the test, but the interesting journey made me feel better.
Science Center is located not far from NUS campus. On half past one, we took excursion buses to the center. Actually, I felt a little embarrassed at the gate of the center because most of the visitors seemed to be primary school students. I think the exhibition must be boring at the time. After entering the center, firstly, we saw a film in a special hall. The whole ceiling of the hall was the screen. I forgot the name of this kind of movie, but it was interesting. I liked the film too. It was about the life of a prehistorically creature. All the vivid scenes and animals dating back to the immemorial time in the movie were made by digital technology. They, as well as the beautiful music, brought us to the fantastic prehistorically time. The movie lasted for only about one hour; it had given me a totally new understanding of archeology.
Getting out from the small theater, we were free to go wherever we wanted in the center. There are so many interesting things in it from paintings which can cheat your eyes to huge electricity devices. We had a lot of fun there. There were two things which impressed me most. The first one is the device that can make small tornado. The reasons for the appearance of tornados are not complicated. The device was like a big tube standing on the ground. Air and smoke would come from the bottom. At the top of the tube, there was a fan which could suck the air in the tube. Then a small tornado formed in this progress. It was amazing, in the nature, the tornado was so powerful but in here I could stop it with one hand. The second one was just a normal tape in a dark box. Water kept spouting from it. When we pressed a button, the light would flash quickly in the box and the water looked like going out drop by drop very slowly. If we switch the frequency of the flash, we can make the drop “stop” in the air.
Time flied, before I could visit all the exhibitions, we had to go back to our dormitory. I like that interesting journey.

  2. I have to say that this journey was really a good experience for me. By the way, I also want to say that this learning journey in Science Centre is really much better than last time. And when I was in the Science Centre, I really wished that the bus would come later so that I can see visit more exhibitions. Because it was too short to visit all of the exhibitions. From this journey, i do learn something useful and interssting. And I also wish we should have more experience to improve our knowledge and open our views.
