East coast, we are coming!

“East Coast, we are coming!” is a slogan for our outing on Labor Day which recalls a vivid memory.
In retrospect, we students in Wuhan University were the only group of students who had never been to East Coast Park compared with the other groups of students living in Eton Hall . Staying peacefully in dormitory is our tradition no matter how long the holiday is. Getting up early, reading English and doing massive exercises fill our days. AS a result, we students in Wuhan University are impressive as low key and diligence since you would never find we take part in outdoor activities. ‘Tradition should be kept to some extent but something new is also necessary.’ I said to myself.
As the oldest one in our university group, my words always count. So I proposed to do cycling in East Coast Park on Labor Day in the regular domestic meeting. However, Dead silence was what I got initially, since they all thought staying indoors was perfect for holiday. But I didn't want to give up, under my strong persuasion, some of them were swayed by my words. Finally, 5 schoolmates decided to go with me.
Word is easier than action. Indeed, when we 5 started to discuss the details, a series of problems were put on table.
“What if it rains tomorrow?”
“How can we get there and how long will it take?”
“How much should each one pay?”
“Is it safe?” …… Questions were like bullets coming out.
“….yes, since it rained last few days, we can't make sure whether it rains or not……” I said and thought weather might stop our plan.
“Never mind! We would appreciate it if it is shiny tomorrow. But if it rains, we are destined to suffer. No sunburn is comfort, anyway .” Just at that moment I decided to cancel the outing, one of my schoolmates said that which surprised me so much because she was thought as an overcautious girl.
“Done!!” we 6 cheered in sync.
“As to the route, it is not a matter. We can ask further details from those who have been to East Coast Park. General information will do if we cannot get further information from them for example fees.” I said.
“Yes, you are quite right. We can't predict what will happen tomorrow. Why not regard our outing as an exploration? That sounds more interesting.” Another schoolmate announced excitedly.
“Yeah !!!East Coast Park! We are coming!” I “screamed” since I was too excited.
“What a good slogan! We can use that as our slogan to encourage ourselves and mark our outing!”
“Ok……” we all acclaimed.
“Well, now calm down guys. We still need to be equipped appropriately. Umbrella, Sun Cream, money, mobile phone, E-Z card……” I gave a lot of recommendations.
…….
In this blog, I had planned to share our experience in East Coast Park. But compared with that, the process of discussion before setting off was more meaningful for us since unity was shown at that moment. Back to our outing, the sun gave a big smile on Labor Day and we all enjoyed ourselves. “East Coast Park, we are coming!” gleamed over the east coast leaving a good memory.

  2. Good for you and your friends to have done something different during the holidays. I know you all like to catch up on your sleep or with your work, but it`s nice to experience something different when the opportunity arises. These are the moments you`ll cherish.

  3. Yes, I also think it's really good for us to experience something different when the opportunity arises. Because I think that we are all living a life that is so busy and we just do the same thing regularly everyday. there is no anything new happening. We are just busy and busy, but eventually, we find that we just do nothing. As we are young, we should try new things and do something different. Always remember: life is not amount of breaths you take, it is the moment that takes your breath away.

  4. I still think that your fellows in Wuhan University all are drown in study and very diligent. You always do the preview, note, and review very carefully. All of you are very frugal, as I can’t imagine you seldom go to canteen and eat the breakfast in Eton Hall for lunch. Actually, I think you are too nervous and easy to be angry especially to me. So I really recommend you to go out to have fun.
It seems that you really have a good time in East Coast on your birthday. Your discussion for the outing is very meaningful as it a time that someone is considerate to you, the oldest.
You all seem very excited so hope that can makes you relaxed.
