During this Chinese New Year holiday, I paid a visit to Pulau Ubin. It was a small island lied to the northeast of Singapore. I enjoyed myself there and I want to share my experience with you in my blog.
It was a fine day that Tuesday. As Eton Hall was on the southwest of Singapore, I had to go across the whole island; I set out at ten o’clock. First I walked to the Queen’s Town MRT station to take the green line which led to the Changi airport. Getting out of the train at Tanah Merah, I found the NO.2 bus stop just near the MRT station. Ten minutes later, the bus came and picked me to the terminal-------Changi Village. It was a small dock where I got on board of a little boat. It took me one and a half hour to get there but the journey
The boat left the shore and was swaying in the sea like a big cradle. Gentle breeze was kissing my face. I felt so relaxed on the boat. Looking through the window I could see the Pulau Ubin in distance. There were so many trees on the island. Some small restaurants were located in shore.
Ten minutes later, I stepped on the island. Pulau Ubin was a good place for cycling. I saw stores renting bicycles. The price for renting a bicycle ranged from six to ten dollars. But I preferred to walk.
I wandered along the narrow path in the tropical forest. Both sides of the road were lined with different kinds of trees and plants, such as coconut trees, palms etc. the sun was shiny; birds were singing on the branches. Sometimes I could see squirrels ran from one tree to another agilely. I really took in the tropical flora and fauna. They brought me a sense of serenity and a breath of fresh air. Suddenly, at the end of the path the big ocean appealed. The green woods, blue sea and the gloriettes on the sea made a beautiful scene. I got lost in this beautiful island
Time limited. I just stayed there for about two hours. However, Pulau Ubin had a deep impression on me. It’s a wonderful place for meditation and relaxing.

It is always good to be close to nature, especially when sometimes you need to relax yourself.I love the nature sceneries without too much human trace such as Pulau Ubin, because they always give us a feeling which is original and pure.
ReplyDeleteAccording to your description, I find Pulau Ubin a good place to visit. So, I decided to pay a visit there some time!
Glad you like Pulau Ubin. Next time, set off for Ubin earlier =) That should give you more time on the island.
ReplyDeleteHi Liao, I have been to Pulau Ubin during the Chinese New Year with one of my friend. Although this small island is a bit farther, no one will regret taking a long trip to visit it.It was really exciting to run down the slope at a breathtaking speed! Also, I found people there were rather kind. They didn't require us to show any certificates about ourselves when they lent bicycles to us.I believe you had a nice day, isn't it?Maybe we can keep company next time .How about having a race?
ReplyDeleteHi Cliff I believe you enjoy nature very much. I do too, especially the Botanic Gardens. Have you been there? You have some very good sentences, e.g."The boat left the shore and was swaying in the sea like a big cradle. Gentle breeze was kissing my face." I attended a sunset wedding there - it was just fantastic.
