As is known to the world, the key to mastering some skills is to discover the regular of them. That’s to say, strategies are always significant. Now, I would like to share some about learning English with you, such as building up your own vocabulary bank, practicing speaking and seeing films at the suitable time.
First of all, I am building up my own mini-dictionary which includes the most words of what you aren’t familiar to or forget easily. Because we have different experience in studying English, it's certain that the words we have managed are diversified. Based on the situation, it's necessary for me to build up vocabulary bank belonging to me. In this way, I can not only review my new words conveniently, but also save the time of looking up them in the dictionary again to know more ones. However, I never write in smaller letters to make it mini, I prefer to record high-frequent words to compress it.
Including building vocabulary bank, the second strategy I use is practicing speaking. I want to have face-to-face conversation with foreigners, however, because of my poor listening and some extent shyness, so that I don’t dare to do it. I think of imitating the voice from the tapes or radio. Oh, it works. I enjoy the sentimental or encouraging voice given after it’s well-prepared. I become active to speak though I often make mistakes or don’t know how to continue suddenly. Moreover, I discover my listening improves as well. That’s really called a thing is completed, but you benefit twice.
Seeing movies is the most popular among these three strategies, because it’s the best example which mixes the studying and entertainment. But when I see it too long, I will care more about the plot rather than the language. Besides, I often miss the exciting moments of study because of seeing. And I know, now, seeing films at the suitable time is the real strategy I should refer to. I usually enjoy it when I’m tired of learning English. Besides, the time is limited in one or two hours. Sometimes, I can return to study soon after relaxing myself through seeing movies. It’s really an useful and scientific method.
Above is what strategy I use, and I quite benefit from it. As the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect”. I believe, if I insist on it, I am to gain more. Thank you. That’s all.

Shuwen, I don't find you all that shy! In fact, I feel that you have really tried hard to participate in class, and make use of every opportunity to interact with English-speakers. Good job there!
