I began to learn English since Junior High. It was a pleasant experience when I first opened an English text book, the excitement, the curiosity and the eagerness to gain knowledge helped me to get a good start for my study in the following years. Because of my great interest in language, I studied very hard, and throughout all these years, I have learned a lot. Here, I want to talk about my learning strategies in learning English.
The thing that helped me the most, I think, is reading English books, newspapers, and many other kinds of materials. Whenever I read, I always set off the new words and useful expressions, which, I think, is really a good way to broaden my vocabulary. Besides, due to my great interest in films, I watched a lot of English movies, usually, I will watch for the first time without looking at the subtitles, and then for a second time, putting down some idioms and good sentences. This has not only helped me pick up some new things, but also improved my listening comprehension. What’s more, I always spend some time when I was free listening to the English radio programs such as VOA and BBC, and I also try to read after the announcers in order to improve my pronunciation.
All in all, learning English well requires not only frequent practice but also your interest and passion. I believe the most efficient strategy in learning English is to treat it as your hobby, fulfill it and completely enjoy it.

Dear Yingtao
ReplyDeleteYou have interesting content and there are personal touches to your writing. This is good. You have used transition markers and there are good supporting examples. However, you need to focus on your punctuation too.
Keep up the good work.
