The two things depressed me these days

These days seemed very deviant. It seemed that everything was out of our thoughts. This made me very unhappy and a little cynical.

The first thing which made me very depressed was that the female guard was fired. I don’t know the reason why she was fired. Someone said it was because of her kindness. Maybe that guess was correct. If you want me to use a word to describe her, maybe no word can be better than “warm-hearted”. I still don’t know why she can't stay with us for the following several months. What I know is that she is a kind, warm-hearted and considerate person. Every night, she went to every dormitory to turn on air-conditions and reminded us of studying, not playing or making phone calls. Every midnight, she knocked a room to another to make sure every room had turned off the light. Even some morning, she might knock our doors to make us get up so that we could catch the bus on time. I was confused and surprised how it happened that aunties didn’t like her, how it happened that such a kind lady was fired. God bless her. She can find a better job in the future. I hope so.

Next, what made me very depressed and surprised was the result of the election of hostel committee. All of us know that the vote of our “elder sister” was larger than the sum of other three’s. Why did MOE choose two of the three instead of her? If the vote was not taken into consideration, it was no need to gather us to attend the election. MOE could choose who they wanted. It was no need to use this artifice. I was very sad to know the result. Congratulations to the two girls. Both of you are very good and I think you can do the work well.

Not everything is in your control. Try to receive the results and be satisfied with it. You may be happy if you have an optimistic attitude.

  1. Dear Zhao Peng

Just wanted to share a wish with you. It goes like this:

I pray that God can grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.

  2. I think that everyone has his or her own judgment about things. So aunties and MOE have their own reasons for their decision. We may feel it unfair but we cannot change it. So we should learn to accept it. Treat everything with a right attitude and there will not be so many pities.

  3. I have the same feelings with you, but I think that everything will have its own reason. As to the aunt, I think we should always recall her for everything she did for us. I am sorry about the news that "older sister" didn't be elected as the hostel committee, but I think we should face the reality. There will be a lot of chances for her, and she can make an effort to make a difference.

  4. As Aleksandr Seggevich Pushkin said
'If by life you were deceived

    Don't be dismal,don't be wild

In the day of grief,be mild

    Merry days will come believe

    Heart is living in tomorrow

    Present is dejected here

    In a moment,passes sorrow

That which passes will be dear'
Don't be botherred by a temperary sorrow, your life will be lighted when your heart tends to become peaceful and calm

  5. I agree with you that the Indian aunty is very kind. But I’m afraid she would never come back. The night before she left, she went to my dormitory to borrow a bag and when we asked why she was fired, she just said that “The aunties here are donkeys。”Maybe there was a big collision between she and aunties。But it was happy that she told me, she had found another boss and she would get a new job very soon. Hope her new job is better.

As for the hostel committee, I was amazed by the decision for I hadn’t thought that MOE would chose two girls from the same university and there were so many people vote for “elder sister”. But I think MOE have their reasons for choosing them.

Don't be so depressed. Bright future is waiting for you as well as "elder sister"

  6. What you said is the point, these things are really annoying. However, don't allow them to disturb you for too long time, because our future is in the front of us, rather than in the back. Maybe we have not the ability to change the things which have happened, nevertheless, we are in charge of the most of the future we will have. Look forward, bury the sad memory and the happiness appears.
I still don't the reliable reasons why our "elder sister" is not elected to be one of the hostel committee. In fact, in my opinion, she did quite well on that day. Although she is not one of hostel committee, she is still our "elder sister" who we admire, isn't it? Cheer up and welcome you who are optimistic and bring us laughers.
