Why I like to learn English

There are some reasons why I like learn English.
At first I thought speaking English was very cool, because before I entered junior high school my sister and her classmate could speak a foreign language like a foreigner and I could not understand. So I envied them very much, and I was looking forward to learning English.
When I was in junior high school, I was eagerly to learn, and my teacher was very nice and kind and she taught very well, so I did well in English. So I liked English more, because I can use it to show myself… you know, I was only a child at that time.
When I entered the senior high school I had mastered some words and phrase and at that time we had a lot of English newspapers and English movies to see. And I was deeply attracted by the Harry Potter series, and I would find everything in magazines or newspapers about Harry Potter and read it. So because of the interesting books I liked English very much. And at that time we knew how important it is to learn English. English is used so widely in the world, and even in China. My teacher told us that we would even have math class that would be had in English. So I study harder in English.
But I also have some difficulty in learning English too. For example, I can’t remember the new words quickly and sometimes I feel difficult to use the new words and phrases.
Now in Singapore I must study English harder than before, because our lessons are in English. And I believe that I can make it to master English well

  1. Dear Harry

Could you give us your name in Hanyu Pinyin please?

It is not easy to learn a foreign language well. But your determination to 'master' English is good. It will help you to be patient and enduring as you build up your Vocabulary of words and expressions to the point of using them in daily usage.

  2. I would advise that you go through your word bank often to familiarise yourself with the words.I`t`s not possible to memorise so many words and their meanings. And do continue with your reading.
