This semester is special to me, because it is my first experience of studying in a foreign country. Without the careful caring from my parents, I have to decide and solve things on my own.
I am clear that I should study hard in this semester to lay a solid foundation for my future study in the university. I have made up my mind to pursue the major of mathematics in the future. I am interested in the world economy and sales. So I want to use mathematical theory into analyzing the trend of the price of the product. I think I should put aside some time to read the magazine: the economist. But it is still hard for me to understand many words of it. So I try to read some easier ones to enrich my vocabularies. I have planned to finish reading some novels at the first stage which are all interesting.
After having mastered a large number of vocabularies, I will try to read something related to scientific research. And I will also read newspaper and magazines to open a door to learn what is happening in the world.
Every week, I will put aside some time to learn science. It is not just for passing the exams but for preparing for my future study.
It may be hard for me to achieve all these plans. But I will try my best to study while entertaining myself now and then. I can make good use of my time to study. I think I already have a better environment to learn English than my friends in China. I shouldn’t waste it. And only through hard time can I achieve my ambitions in the future.

Good that you intend to do more reading for interest and building your vocabulary. The Economist may be a little difficult for you to understand but could still read for collocation.Try to read widely; don't just focus on Science materials.
