I begun to learn English when I was 10 years old, at that time, I didn't have many ideas why I need to learn English, but my parents told me that it was important to learn it well, because we needed to keep in touch with the rest of the world and English was exactly the tool we need. I remember that the phonetic symbol was the first thing I learned about English, after a few weeks, I found that the pronunciation and grammar were quite different between English and Chinese, there are stressing points in English words but we don’t have, the verbs’ forms would be changed in different situations, but we needn’t. I found it interesting, so I started to learn English spontaneously. As the time I learned English became longer, and my knowledge about English evolved, more and more I felt that English was quite different from Chinese, not only the pronunciation and the grammar, but the culture behind the language. Someone says that when you are learning a language, you are learning a culture. I quite agree about it. By learning English, I knew that 13 was an unfortunate number in western culture, and don’t ask someone about people about ages or salaries because it is considered as impolite……
All these things attracted me so much, and English seems more and more interesting to me, so, I love learning English and I wound keep on learning it.
