An exciting experience of my mother’s
When my mother told me her interesting experience in a mountain in a dark night, I couldn’t help laughing.
It was so interesting that I also wanted to have a chance of experiencing that.
You may wonder what I am saying. Now, let me tell you in detail.
I went to wuxi in senior 2 taking part in a group with my friends. When we climbed on the luding mountain in the afternoon, we felt so bored because we were just taking steps. What I wanted to do was to climb a mountain. I long hoped to ascend a real mountain like those who conquered mount zhumulangma. So I was very disappointed. I suggested that we could climb the mountain barehanded. One of my friends agreed with me at once. So we held each other’s hands and caught hold of the roots of the trees in order to lift ourselves. It was so dangerous for the earth was very slippery after a small rain. Our clothes and trousers were blurred with clay. Although our speed in the way to the top of the mountain was really slow, I felt a sense of achievement because I regarded myself as a real climber.
After I came back home, I told my mother all about it. I was really proud of it. But my mother just returned my speech with a simple smile. I didn’t understand why she didn’t feel anything interesting. Then she told me a story of her.
When she was a young girl just at my age, she always wanted to do something unusual. One day during her summer vocation, she went to climb a mountain with her sister who I call her aunty now. They were also bored with just running up the steps. An idea came to her mind: why couldn’t they climb the mountain just with their hands? So they did what I had done during my trip to wuxi. When they found they had lost their way back home, it was really in a dark night. They even could not see the moon because of the verdant trees. They were very frightened because their mother would be worried about them for there was no mobile phone at that time. What would happen in the next a few hours? Even they themselves did not know. They could not even find a normal path leading to the entrance of the mountain. They wanted to cry for help, but who would hear? Maybe some animals which even they could name would give them some responses. They had a feeling of helplessness.
Suddenly they heard someone talking in a not-far-away distance. They felt relieved but still a little worry for they did not know who he was and whether he would help them or do harm to them.
The result turned out to be nice. He was a real climber who was glad to help the two ladies to find their way.
After I have heard my mother’s story, I have only one feeling that she has the same character as me that a desire to conquer what we don’t know.
Anyway, it is a good story, isn’t it?

ReplyDeleteThis experience shows that you dare take risks and are willing to accept challenges. That`s a good test of character. There may not be any physical mountains for you to climb in Singapore, but figuratively, there are and I`m sure you`ll get to the top successfully if you tenaciously hold on to everything positive.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I am not a challenging person campared with you. From DISC test, I have a strong believe that I am a person who prefers to stability. Most of the time,I "try myself" to advoid challenges.Indeed, I don't like challenge which brings fear and stress instead of excitement and confidence. But I am typically a person who can handle the challenge well.Seemlingly,it is contrary with what I said at the beginning. But indeed I am.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea about the reason.Maybe you can help me?
